Review - Colour B4 Extra

I’ve already written this once but I somehow deleted it after posting it - nooooooooooooo I screamed at the computer and clicked on everything to get it back but it’s gone to the cyber dustbin. So I start again - word processing it first this time!
Before christmas I decided to dye my hair a black/red/purple colour (I don’t know why I must have been going through some sort of early mid life crisis!) But I then got asked to be a bridemaid next year and wanting to have a normal hair colour I decided to try to dye my hair back to dark brown but having got fed up of the mess hair dye makes I thought I’d give this ago - Colour B4 hair colour remover.
This is exclusively available from Boots and it comes in two strengths:
- regular - for general colour removal and correction
- extra strength - for long term colour build up and very dark, intense colour
As I had used a dark dye I decided to buy the extra strength formulation (£11.99).
Colour B4 works by shrinking the artificial colour molecules allowing them to be washed out and returning your hair to it’s LIGHTEST NATURAL SHADE. It also contains a buffer to regain a natural pH level which allows you to dye your hair again after if necessary.
You apply the mixture to your hair and leave on for 20 minutes. You rinse for 5 minutes (it’s recommended this is done stood in the shower), apply the buffer for 1 minute and the rinse for a further 5 before applying the rest of the buffer for a minute and then finally rinsing out.
So when I got out of the shower I looked in the mirror and my hair looked considerably lighter than I remember but I dried it and it turned out a light brown colour with coppery tones and not my normal dark brown.
But Colour B4 hasn’t bleached my hair it has simply done what it said it would do - returned my hair to it’s lightest natural shade. Even thought I originally had dark brown hair it did have alot of natural copper highlights in it and this is obviously my lightest natural colour.
I would defiantly use this again and would recommend this to other people. The only thing I’d say to other people is to take into consideration any natural highlights in your hair as like me the colour of those could end up being your whole hair colour.

L'Occitane - My (not so guilty) secret!
(Photo from QVC UK.com)I found these on QVC and they were £27.98 + P&P which ordinarily I would think is ludicrous for a bottle of shampoo and a bottle of conditioner but considering on the L'Occitane website it is £22 for 2x250ml and these are 2x500ml which is good value. So when I had my shower this morning they were on the side just screaming for me to try them and wow!
Normally my hair is abit limp and liveless and feels like it hasn't been cleansed but not this time! It feels light, silky, soft, healthy and best of all I can't stop smelling it because it smells of gorgeous verbena! And my mum even said that it didn't look greasy like usual! The fact that it looked greasy before is news to me!
So now I'm thinking who can I give my supply of shampoo and conditioner to so that I can stock up on this verbena hair duo?
But on tuesday I'm going to York and I'm definitely going to make my inevitable trip to the L'Occitane boutique so who know's what I'll come out with (I think of it as a crime if I don't buy at least 1 item!) Will write again with news on all my goodies!

Card 2
This should have been posted with the other one but my photo wouldn't upload and have only had time to do it now.
Right so I made this card for my friends 23rd birthday and thought the Daisy and Dandelion decoupage bunny topper would be perfect for her as she loves rabbits. The topper was mounted on a piece of silver card which was then mounted on some spotty paper which is also Daisy and Dandelion but I'm not sure which decoupage pack it come from. I then stuck it on a square pink card and popped silver flower gems in each corner just to finish it off before adding a Forever Friend pink parfait 'Celebration Time' sentiment.
I have a few new card making kits which I'm going to play with in the next few weeks so I'll upload some photos of the finished cards and I've also bought a load of new make-up which I'm going to be trying out and I'll also write what I think in the next couple of weeks too.

Card 1
This was a quickie card which I made for my grandmas 84th birthday. I used a Forever Friends invertage topper and layer it up on red/pink flower paper which came with the invertage and layered that up on some silver card and then stuck it down on a plain white card. I used the Forever Friends Pink Parfait 'celebration time' sentiment and simply placed a purple (Kanban) gem in each corner and a red one in the middle of the flower on the bears hat.
I wasn't sure if the topper would look too big on the small card but I think it looks pretty good!
