TK Maxx haul

I never really went into TK Maxx until a few years ago when I started beauty blogging as I heard that their beauty section held a few little gems.

As with the clothes and other items they stock turn over is high and it is hit and miss but recently I've found a few good buys so here's some of what I've bought.

I already have a jewellery box but I wanted a smaller one for my everyday jewellery instead of just having it chucked on the top of my chest of drawers and hopefully it will mean the end of searching for that stray earring that has rolled off somewhere underneath!

This is a cute box with a lid that opens for larger items and a drawer which is great for earrings and rings.

One the beauty front I got a few other items but I've put them away already before I took these photo but review of those are coming up very soon. Other things I found in TK Maxx and resisted buying was a Shu Uemura mini cleansing set for £29.99 (I was very very very tempted to buy this), Rodial limited edition tanning kit for £19.99 (this is on ASOS for £50.00 reduced for £70.00). I was going to buy this but put it back, then got home and wished I'd bought it! They also stock alot of sets of nail polishes such as Models Own and Revlon for around £7.99 for 3 polishes, if you're not fussy about the colours in the sets then these are a great buy.

Review - Korres vanilla plum shower gel

I have never used a Korres product before and then in the Boots christmas sale they had a mini giftset half price at £6.50 which contained a shower gel, body lotion and lip butter in the vanilla plum fragrance. So in the need of research I jumped at the chance to buy it!

Korres is a Greek brand which started in Athens in 1996 and it uses pharmaceutical knowledge of over 3,000 homeopathy and herbal remedies to create it's products which are also certified organic and natural e.g. no parabens or SLS.

I have only used the shower gel so far as I have far too many body lotions open which isn't good for my product use up challenge.

First thing I noticed is the colour (you can just about see it above the label on the bottle), it is a strange dark yellowy brown colour but the smell! Simply gorgeous! You get a hit of sweet vanilla but with a juicy plum twist.

The formulation is quite a little thicker than others but not gloopy and it leaves your skin feeling lovely and soft. The only downside of the product is the bottle. When you take the lid off it's completely open so if you dropped it you'd loose most of your product and it would be quite easy to squeeze far too much out causing wastage.

I would buy the full sized product (250ml) which is priced at £7.50 which I don't think is too bad considering how much some other brands charge. For a large range of Korres products check out Look Fantastic and they also offer a slight discount on the range.

Haul - Sale shopping: Boots and ASOS

I know I'm late posting this but this is just a quick one to show what I picked up in the post-christmas sales. 

ASOS

Apologies for the useless photo, I tried and tried to get a decent photo but it just wasn't happening. These are mini crimpers anyway. I had been umming and ahhing about whether to buy the Babyliss Root Boost but at £30 I didn't think I could justify buying it when I probably would only use it once in a blue moon. Then just before christmas I looked on ASOS and came across these mini crimpers which were only £7! Bargain or what?!

I've only had a quick play with these but I'm really impressed. They do get really hot and crimp really well, they definitely gave me more volume. I can't wait to try these out properly.

Boots

Baxter the dog. This was £15, I think, reduced from £30. I got this for Chris's niece for her birthday which is in March. I kind of don't want to give him away because he's too cute!

Next are presents for his other nieces who's birthday is in February. I think these were half price at £12.

I also got some things for my grandma for her birthday in April, with the exception of the Hello Kitty perfume, I forgot to include it in the previous photo but this was £7.50. So for my grandma I got some things from the Garden Collection. I bought her a couple of things from this collection in 2009 and she loved them so I know she'll like these. I got magnolia drawer liners, handwash and hand lotion and floral room sprays and votive candles. These were £11 all together.

And for me....I got a Korres mini sampler set. I got vanilla plum scent and you get a body wash, body lotion and a lip butter. This was around £6.50.
