Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

When I saw that Revlon were bringing out a new foundation called Nearly Naked I knew I had to buy it.

The foundation comes in a sleek bottle and looks like something you would buy from a premium brand.  The only bad thing is that it doesn't have a pump on it, I don't now if you recycle an old pump from another bottle and then it would avoid accidental spillage.

I chose shade 150 Nude.

The first thing I noticed was how light the foundation was. It covered easily and left my skin looking dewy and fresh. I wouldn't use this to go out in for a night out as it i definitely a day product. As it is so light I am taking this on holiday with me as I don't was to be caked in foundation.

If you're looking for a light product then I would recommend you give this a try and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. It is priced at a very reasonable £8.99 and comes in 10 different shades. It is available from Boots and Superdrug.

Revlon Photo Ready Primer

A couple of years ago I tried the Revlon Photo Ready foundation and didn't like it, it was far too glittery for my liking but now the range has extended to powders, mascara, blushers and primers I decided I should give the range a second chance. I chose the primer to try.

You can use the primer alone to even put skin tone or as I do under foundation to create a smoother complexion. I generally use a pump and a little bit to cover the whole of my face, don't know if this is too much but it's what I prefer. It dries quickly and my face is left feeling smooth and ready for make up. My foundation glides on and sets nicely. I have found that it does make my make up last longer and I don't need to reapply as often.

My favourite rimer is by Witch but this one is a close second, I will certainly be repurchasing.

This is £11.99 an available from Boots and Superdrug.

Revlon Quick Dry Base and Top Coat

I have to admit I rarely use base and top coat but that was until I used green nail polish and it dyed my nails, they looked like they'd gone mouldy!

As I love Revlon nail polished I thought that I'd try the base and top coat as they were also on offer at buy one get on half price - even better!

The base coat gave a nice coating on my nail and my coloured polish applied smoothly over the top. On the rare occasions where I did use a top coat I was always very careful to make sure my polish has fully dried before applying it to avoid any smudging. This didn't happen with the Revlon top coat. I applied quite a thin layer and it did dry very quickly.

My polish lasted a very long time. Normally my nails last a couple of days but with this top and base coat they lasted all week with no chips at all! Very impressive!

These ar both £6.49 each and available from Boots and Superdrug.

Review - Revlon Photo Ready Eye Primer and Brightener

Well I was left devastated when my Benefit Stay Don't Stray ran out and I tried to find a suitable replacement as I didn't fancy paying out for a new tube for Stay Don't Stray when I have a lack of Pennies right now and this little tube caught my eye.

I use this under my eyes to try to brighten my dark circles and on my eye lids as a primer for foundation and eye shadow. You need very little and it does come in a brush tube so you can paint it on. Personally I prefer to put it on my finger before applying it rather than painting it straight on to my eyes.

I find that it does brighten my skin but not as much as the Benefit product which I love but it does provide a nice primed surface for my eye make up to go on to. I like that it's in a brush rather than a pump as it means you get much less wasted product.

I don't think I would buy this again but I will continue to use it until it runs out.

This costs £9.99 and is available from Boots and Superdrug.

Nail polish dupes - Greens

Green isn't a colour I wear that often but I seem to have acquired 3 different teal coloured polishes.

1. 17 - Exquisite - £2.99
2. Revlon - Ocean Breeze - £6.49
3. No 7 - Dollar - £7.00

I'm not a general fan of 17 nail polishes I've always found they chip easily but I love this deep green colour. The Revlon shade is a nice green for a summers night out and I haven't actually used the No 7 green yet but I think I'll be wearing it a lot in the winter months as it's a nice deep green.

Personally I would go for the Revlon or the No 7 polish as I don't get on with 17 polishes but as the colours are so similar I would say go with which ever brand you refer or choose depending on your budget.

The month that was.....June

Ahh June, it's been a busy month.

I'd resigned myself to staying on at work and accepting an extension to my contract much to my disappointment and then I got a possible job opportunity somewhere else which would mean an immediate start so dilemma....what do I do????

Well I decided that this opportunity was too good to miss so I told work that I wasn't going to accept my contract extension and I left! In the end I didn't get the other job but cest la vie, I'm way happier than I was so the risk was worth it!

Also I did lots of interview prep (below) for the job but I didn't get ask a single question, it was very strange!

Also I won a competition run by Revlon on Twitter and I got lots of their new Top Speed nail polishes sent to me and I've been enjoying trying them all out. I also won a competition ran by Eylure for me and three friends to go on the Guestlist for the Hed Kandi and Pacha beach party in London yesterday but no one could make it so I had to reject the prize :-( Twas gutted.

It was also the Queens Diamond Jubilee, it feels like it was ages ago not only 25 days ago, so we had a little party on the sunday when the flotilla was going down the Thames, my theme was everything in miniature!

It was fathers day so I dusted off my crafting stuff and made my dad this card:

Yesterday was my birthday but I just had a quiet day and went to Nandos for tea which was nice but the wait for a table was so long. Tonight I'm also gong out for some drinks with my friend who I haven't seen for ages so that should be fun and talking of drinks.....

A nice refreshing Rekorderlig cider:

Ahhh lovely!
