Haul: The Body Shop

At the minute I'm really into The Body Shop. I hadn't bought anything from them in years but since my birthday at the end of June when my friend got me the new sweet lemon giftset I've become abit of an addict!

On Facebook if you became a fan you could get 25% off if you placed an order online. Since I had wanted a few things I thought that I might aswell take advantage of this offer. So here is what I got (from L-R):

• Ice blue shampoo (a sort of menthol scent)
• Seaweed toner (I will review)
• NEW Rainforest shine conditioner (this range is currently buy one get one half price so I also got.......)
• NEW Rainforest balance conditioner (I'll review both of these)
• Seaweed night treatment moisturiser (I have a review in the pipeline!)
• Banana shampoo
• Banana conditioner
• And because I spent over £15 I got a pack of vitamin E face wipes

I also got free delivery and I ordered on tuesday and it arrived on friday which I thought was really quick.

I would defiantly order from them again and I'm looking forward to using the new Rainforest haircare products as they don't contain nasty things like parabens, silicones, sulphates or colourants. Like I said I will review these as soon as I can!

Clothes haul

I'm on a spending ban as I'm trying to pay off my debts to bank of mum and dad but New Look and Peacocks had a sale on so I thought I'd nip in for a quick look! And for a few quick purchases!

First up from New Look are a pair of grey 3/4 length shorts which should have been £18 but were reduced to £9 and a turquoise top which had been reduced from £4 to £2.

Two pairs of shorts which were half price at £3. These are for PJ bottoms.

From Peacocks I got this beach cover up which was £5. I'm not going on holiday but I'm going to Centre Parks next year for my friends hen party so I'll need something for when we go to the pool and this does look nice with a vest under it so it's not just for the beach!

Finally is a tankini. This is for Centre Parks and the top is from Peacocks and the bottoms which have a skirt over the top (good for my chubby thighs!) is from a shop called Store 21. Both were £5. I know they don't match but the top covers the top of the skirt so you can't see the flower pattern, not that it would matter anyway.

Recent buys

As promised yesterday, this is my recent L'Occitane (pronounced: lox-ee-tahn) haul.

I bought these as two separate kits. The one on the left is the floral one which contains:

• Extra gentle hand and body wash
• Cherry blossom bath and shower gel
• Peony shower creme
• Rose hand wash
• Cherry blossom soap

And on the right is the citrus one:

• Extra gentle hand and body wash
• Citrus verbena shower gel
• Verbena showel gel
• Verbena hand wash
• Verbena soap

I absolutely love the verbena scent that L'Occitane do, it's probably my favourite, but I really wanted to try the new peony shower creme and the new rose handwash which is the only reason why I bought the floral kit because I'm not normally a fan of floral scents.

L'Occitane is becoming more and more popular and known about and it's regularly featured in magazines. It's more of a premium brand and products are more expensive that regular mass brands but that's where the old saying "you get what you pay for" comes in.

You only need a very small amount of what ever product you use, they don't contain Lanolin, Tallow or synthetic detergents and they have their own foundation where they help the women of Burkina Faso who produce all of the shea butter in L'Occitane's products.

I would recommend L'Occitane hands down and I don't think I've ever used a product that I don't like, which is somewhat a rarity nowadays.

I've bought a few new things this week including these cute flower hair clips which were £3 from New Look. Sorry the photo isn't that great!

My Benefit 10 was off Dainty Dollymix's blog sale and was a bargain at £12. I'd wanted to try this after my mum got a make-over at a Benefit counter and this made she cheekbones look lovely and defined. When I first tried it I wasn't impressed but I now lightly sweep it on and it leaves me with a nice, but subtle, cheekbone definition (if you get that!)
Finally my last purchases were the mini Maxfactor nail polish with I did a NOTD here and three of the new 17 mirror shine lipsticks.

The shades of the lipsticks are (L-R): Flirtini, Belle and Sugar Daddy. The colour of the bullets look quite striking but when you put them on they are much more pale and subtle (I'm using that word alot at the minute aren't I!) The consistency is more of a cross between a lipstick and a gloss but the light texture is great for summer when you don't really want to feel like you're wearing a lot of make-up.

Hmm the title might not be totally true as I've had these for about a month now but haven't had time to post anything. So the photo shows:

• Revlon double twist mascara
• Revlon photo ready foundation
• L'oreal lash architect carbon gloss mascara
• L'oreal telescopic explosion mascara
• L'oreal extra volume collagen waterproof mascara
• Maxfactor lash extension waterproof mascara
• L'oreal studio secrets make-up primer

I've been going through a 'mascara' phase hence the 5 in the photo! And also Boots were running a £2 off Revlon and L'oreal voucher which I took advantage of.

So far I've only used 3 of the products: the Revlon mascara, Revlon foundation and the L'oreal make-up primer.

The Revlon double twist mascara I absolutely LOVE! I was a Maxfactor False Lash Effect addict after loving the effect it gave your lashes but in my opinion the Revlon mascara is a million times better. It give length and volume and looks like you have false lashes on and the effect unlike some mascaras lasts all day. I like to apply a coat and let it dry before applying another one over the top. My only bad point about it is that it's rather clumpy.

I bought the Revlon Photo Ready foundation after reading loads of blogs where it got good reviews and thought that I should give it a go. I had never used Revlon foundation before as it's not really a brand that screams "buy me" but I was pleasantly surprised. It gives a natural finish which I like as I don't do the 'caked' look and it has a slight sparkle to it which gives you the photogenic look! I've only used it a few times but I think I'll use it loads more in the summer especially as it has a SPF 20 in it.

Finally is the L'oreal studio secrets male-up primer. I'm not a fan of primers as I don't like putting loads of products on my skin and because I don't normally have time in the morning to do the 'apply, wait for it to dry' routine. I've only used this twice so far and it does leave your skin feeling smooth and soft but I'm not sure that it helped my foundation go on better so I'll have to start using it religiously for a couple of weeks so I can give a fairer review.

Since I last posted I have been on a shopping trip to York and have more products to review but that will have to be another post for another day!
