Birthday haul - York

On Monday me, my mum and our friend went to York for the day kind of as a day out for my birthday, which is on Friday. I did have quite a big list of stuff I wanted to buy but half of what I wanted I couldn't find and of course I ended up buying things that I didn't intend to! So what did I buy???

Cath Kidston
They had a sale with up to 30% off and I'd seen the Royal Stan print on their website and thought it was really cute but then I saw this little bag and had to buy it!

Royal Stan Box Bag - £16.00 (was £22.00)

Boots
I wanted some conditioner and as there is a 3 for 2 on holiday essentials I stocked up on hair products to keep me going.

L'Oreal Elvive serum - £9.99 (the bottle is huge though and will last ages)
Organix Moroccan Argan Oil conditioner - £6.99
Tresemme Keratin Smooth conditioner - £4 ish (was free on the 3 for 2 offer)

Batiste hint of colour dry shampoo - £3.99
Dove - £2.49 ish (one was free on the 3 for 2 offer)
Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean - £7.00

The Body Shop

Anita's Favourites Raspberry Ripple shower gel - £2 (was £4)

Products I regret buying

I thought I'd do a different post today and one I've never done before. There aren't many products I buy and then think "why on earth did I buy it?" but there have been a few including these four:

Left - Right - Tresemme Intensive Conditioner, Toni & Guy Firm Hold Hairspray, Benefit Confessions of a Concealerholic and L'Oreal Studio Secrets Primer.

Tresemme Intensive Conditioner
I first used Tresemme years ago when it first came out and it just doesn't agree with my hair and scalp. So what on earth possessed me to buy 4 tubs of their intensive conditioner I really don't know. I use this very occassionally so the huge 500ml tubs will last me a lifetime at this rate!

Toni & Guy Firm Hold Hairspray
I have review this already and that can be found here but in a nutshell it's sticky, the hole always blocks and it's the worst hairspray I've ever used.

Benefit Confessions of a Concealerholic
I couldn't wait for this to come out! I was so excited! But for £28.50 it was a major waste of money. It contains two shades of boiing concealer in mini sizes which are stuck in the box, a mini lemonaid (also stuck in the box), a mini eyebright (can't be removed), 2 mini brushes, a mini that gal face primer (can be removed) and a mini erase paste (also can be removed). The amount of product you get for the money is teeny. I've only used the erase paste and I've just started using the primer. A complete waste of money.

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Primer
When I first bought this I loved it, then loads of other primers came onto the market and these just highlighted how bad this one was. For £12.99 it's really overpriced and I hardly use it. I'd much rather use cheaper alternatives from 17 or Witch which both give better results.

Has anyone else tried these products? What do you think of them? Also what products have you bought which you wish you hadn't?

Haul - Boots and Savers

Ok, ok, I know that I said I wasn't going to buy anymore toiletries until I'd used up my stash but these ones are ok as the majority of them were free!

Boots

These were free because I got them with my points! All Organic Surge products at Boots are currently on 2 for £8 and considering most of them are over £8 now the VAT increase has been effected this is a real bargain. These were £8.16 each so I saved £8.32!

And last week I had to return something but I didn't have my receipt so had to have an exchange. I got Vaseline aloe vera gel and cocoa butter gel which were 2 for £5 (or £4.89 each). I like the idea that they are a gel so they will be lighter to apply in the summer when lotions and butters are sometimes too rich.

I also got Naked rose body wash (£3.99) and Naked starflower body wash (£4.07), Tresemme naturals mini shampoo and conditioner (£1.32 each) and a Bourjois little round pot eyeshadow in shade 13 (£5.99).

Savers

Fee at Makeup Savvy tweeted about finding these Naked products in Savers so the next day when I was in town I popped in to check them out. They were £1 each instead of around £3.99 and I got a bottle of white ginger body wash, a tube of cocoa butter body cream and a tube of rice shower scrub.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?
