My make up storage

On my popular posts gadget which is over there >>> I saw that a post on my make up storage was quite popular, as this was from 2010 I thought maybe it was time to show you where I now store my products. 

As I no longer live in my own house I don't have anywhere near as much space I have used two shelves in my wardrobe to hide everything away.

I use my Sanctuary box from a Boots christmas offer of the week from 2010 and my Gok Wan drawer set from christmas 2011 to gold all my products in. They're great as you can separate products up and they're easy to find if you have to get ready in  rush like me. 

So what's in the drawers?

The bottom drawer in the Sanctuary unit holds all my blushers.

In the middle drawer are my eyeshadow palettes.

The top left hand drawer holds products that I don't use that often. The spoon is for when I mix mica powders with water in case you're wondering! The right hand drawer has my everyday products.

The bottom two drawers in my Gok unit  hold mascaras and eye pencils.

The middle two drawers hold lipsticks and in the right drawer it is a mixture of new products and odd single products.

The top two drawers hold new products that haven't been opened yet. As you can see I don't think I need to buy anymore products for a while! 

On top of these I have a few everyday products that need to be stood up so I have primers and foundations.

If anyone is struggling with their make-up storage I would highly recommend you track down some drawer units like these because they are so functional and it makes your life so much easier in the mornings when you're rushing about trying to get ready to go to work, school or uni.

How do you store your make up?

What I did with my Sanctuary OOTW...

A couple of weeks ago Boots had this Sanctuary set as their offer of the week. It was £19 reduced from £40.

I wasn't really bothered about the goodies you got inside, I wanted the box to use as make up storage because my make up table looked like this.....

A mess. In the morning I have very little time to get ready so sometimes hunting through this mess if a bit of a nightmare. So with the help of the Sanctuary box my make up table now looks like this....

Ahhh much better! So what have I put inside it?

In the bottom drawer I only have my Benefit Confessions of a Concealerholic.

In the middle drawer I have concealers, mineral foundation, primers and powders. As you can see there is still loads of room left for more make up goodies!

And in the little top drawers I have eyeshadows, eyeshadow applicators, eyelash curlers, nail file, pencil sharpener and a foundation sponge.

Oh and on top of the box is my container with my make-up brushes in, my clock, tissues, mug with odd liners in and my kabuki brushes.

I love this box and am so glad I bought it!

Make up storage

On my last blog giveaway part of the rules to enter were that you had to suggest what you'd like to see on my blog. I got quite a lot of different recommendations including make up storage which is what I'm going to post about today.

My make up table.

My make up table used to be my computer table but when I moved I swapped my tables around, so my old make up table is now my computer table and my old computer table is now my new make up table. In my new house this works much better as it's smaller and my make up table doesn't fit in my bedroom so it's in the spare room.

Mascara storage.

As I like to chop and change which mascara I use I needed something to hold them which would also make them easy to find and see. So as I'm a Yankee Candle fanatic I reused a medium jar which I had finished.

Brushes storage.

These two cream cylinder pots came from Ikea, I think they were £2.50 for the pair. In the large one I store my hair brushes and a lint roller which I use after I've done my hair so I don't have loads of hair on the back on my tops. I use the smaller one to hold my make up brushes.

Liners, concealer pens etc.

This is my 18th Me To You Bear mug which instead of being hidden in a cupboard I use as storage for odd liners, concealers and pencils.

Eye liner storage.

Again this a Me To You Bear mug but this is my 21st one. I use this to store eye pencils and eye liners in.

Eyeshadow applicator storage.

This is another Yankee Candle container which I've used as storage. This is a small tumbler which is the perfect size for storing foam eyeshadow applicators and a couple of nail files.

Foundation and primer storage.

This pot was a free gift with No7 which I got last year. Currently it is 3/4 full so there's plenty of room left in it. I put my foundations, tinted moisturiser and make up primers in this.

Blushers, palettes, lipstick and samples storage.

I love this little basket! I bought it from L'Occitane and it was full of mini's. I have my urban decay eyeshaow palette in this as well as Benefit blushers, a No7 eyeshadow palette, a No7 highlighter palette, my Lily Lolo samples and my 17 mirror shine lipsticks.

Other storage.

This is a little basket which I use to put odd eyeshadows in and other bits of make up which I use quite a lot but was out of the way. So I have my Benefit Confessions of a Concealerholic set, L'Oreal eyeshadows, eyelash curlers, my pencil sharpener, a foundation sponge and my Barry M dazzle dust.
